The thiobencarb monitoring results continue to be excellent through May 20. Reporting shows three detections (<1.0 ppb) at the upper Colusa Basin site (CBD5) starting May 6 and going down by May 18. The monitoring site had a peak detection of 1.2 ppb on May 20, which is below the performance goal of 1.5 ppb. We will continue to share monitoring results throughout the season.

The reporting shows two detections (<1.0 ppb) at the upper Colusa Basin site (CBD5), which are not a concern. The Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS) is currently taking applications for conservation practices to create habitat for both shorebirds and waterfowl. The deadline to start the application process is this Friday, May 28. Any interested growers should contact their local NRCS office (listed in the table below) to start the process by that date.

The monitoring results are 12.5 percent survival at CBD5 on May 4. Two days later, the same site received the first thiobencarb detection for the season. We will follow up with the Colusa County Agricultural Commission to track applications close to the site.
