USDA Farm Services Agency has mailed applications to eligible growers for Phase 1 of the Emergency Relief Program (ERP). For growers who have not returned the application, reminders have also been sent. It is important to note that the deadline to complete the application is Friday, July 22, 2022.

The Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) published florpyrauxifen-benzyl (Loyant) as Loyant® CA with Rinskor™ active Herbicide under notice of proposed decisions to register on July 1. This starts a 30-day public notification process that concludes July 31. The CRC is working with Corteva and DPR to streamline paperwork at the conclusion of the registration process to closely follow July 31.
The University of California Cooperative Extension (UCCE) says the next several days will be critical for growers to monitor their fields, and potentially make any necessary treatment decisions, as armyworm numbers will be at their highest very soon.
As expected, moth numbers peaked last week. Utilizing annual trend data and on-site monitoring, the UCCE says worms in the field will peak this week and next.
Proposed regulation changes by the Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) adds nine new sections, amends 30 sections and repeals four sections for all license types under Title 3 California Code of Regulations (3 CCR). Full details can be found here with comments due July 19, 2022.
The California Ricelands Waterbird Foundation is currently soliciting applications for the Bid4Birds habitat program this fall. Applications are submitted through the Foundation website and the enrollment period closes on Wednesday, June 22, 2022.
