CRC Major Amendment Passes by Wide Margin

CRC Major Amendment Passes by Wide Margin

CDFA has finished the vote tally and the major amendment has passed overwhelmingly. 73.38 percent of producers voted in favor and 85.71 percent of handlers voted in favor of the assessment cap increase.

While passage of the amendment increases the assessment cap by a nickel, the 2020/21 budget and assessment rate of $0.15 per hundredweight was approved by the Board on August 5. Any increase in the assessment cap will be considered in future years, based on crop size and projected Rice WDR and other expenses.
