Producers have until March 15, 2020 to elect and enroll acres in either ARC or PLC for program year 2019 and until June 30, 2020 for program year 2020. Enrolling less than 100% of a covered commodity’s base acres on a farm is not allowed. This election will apply to the farm for 2019 through 2023 however election changes are permitted in crop years 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Announced in May, the USDA Market Facilitation Program compensates farmers and ranchers financially hurt by the retaliatory tariffs imposed by key importing nations negotiating revised trade agreement terms and conditions with the Trump Administration.

The USDA Farm Service Agency has completed the software update for California japonica rice, and growers can now sign up for CCC loans.

The USDA Farm Service Agency is reporting a delay in sign up for loans for temperate japonica rice due to needed software update. Software developers have been made aware of the urgency of the situation and will implement the fix as soon as possible. We have received reports that normal operations should be back up by mid-week next week.
County offices are still able to take loan requests.
